When a Fast & Furious legend joins forces with Richard Gere in a high-stakes plane survival thriller, you know it’s going to be explosive. In this gripping new film, a seasoned action star from the Fast & Furious franchise teams up with the iconic Richard Gere for a heart-pounding adventure.

Fast & Furious franchise star Michelle Rodriguez and The Agency‘s Richard Gere are teaming up for a new plane survival thriller from director Ben Younger.

Per Deadline, Rodriguez and Gere will star in Left Seat, which is described as a plane survival thriller. Younger (Bleed for ThisPrime) directs from a script penned by David M. Crabtree. The official synopsis for Left Seat reads: “When a traveling pharmaceutical rep (Rodriguez) is forced to take control of a small charter plane after the pilot falls unconscious mid-flight, she must rely on the help of a stranger (Gere) over the radio, to navigate through deadly storms and land the aircraft before the fuel runs out.”

An action genre mainstay will take to the sky in a new thriller that might end up feeling like déjà vu for the movie’s director.

Left Seat is produced by Jason Michael Berman, best known as a producer for Ben Affleck’s Air and Surrounded, a western starring Black Panther‘s Letitia Wright. Berman also serves as a producer for the highly anticipated new Spike Lee-Denzel Washington collaboration Highest 2 Lowest, which recently received its first teaser trailer. In a statement accompanying the announcement of Left Seat, Berman expressed his enthusiasm for the film’s two leads, saying that working with Rodriguez and Gere is a “dream come true.” There is currently no official release date for Left Seat.

Left Seat’s Michelle Rodriguez Returns as Letty in Fast X: Part 2

In addition to her upcoming film, Left Seat, Rodriguez is also set to reprise her role of Letty Ortiz in Fast X: Part 2, which is expected to land in theaters sometime in 2026. Fast X: Part 2 will serve as the final installment in the franchise. However, the status of the film’s production has been a source of contention and it appears that filming hasn’t begun yet for the highly anticipated conclusion, according to a previous report. Fast X star Alan Ritchson told Screen Rant back in February that the upcoming sequel is experiencing filming delays due to scheduling conflicts, which could mean a possible release date delay for Fast X: Part 2 if production continues to stall.

Gere stars alongside a star-studded cast which includes the talents of Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, Katherine Waterson, and Jodie Turner-Smith. The Agency turned out to be a hit for Paramount+ and Showtime and was renewed for a second season. There is no official release window for The Agency Season 2.
